Much like when an incredibly bright and friendly star is lost way too soon and unexpectedly, it caused her to lose the popularity she had been gaining. Many mourned all of her potential, which was untapped. Through the years, her fans were encouraged to push themselves harder to make sure that Selena's successes would not fade away. The death of Selena triggered emotion in Latino community that is similar with Elvis Presley, and John Lennon. The music of Selena, a singer who was hugely successful across Latino communities across North America touched people young and old. Selena is an edgy sexy performer, sometimes referred in the media as Latina Madonna. However, she's considered a role model to be reckoned with because she is offstage and has a family-oriented attitude and actively takes part in anti-drug initiatives.
