Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) is better known under her real moniker Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist signed to J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. The first album she released with the label on October 21 2016 titled Pho where she started to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her first album of studio work on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music to the Internet in 2012, when she released her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. The singer continued uploading her songs online throughout 2014 and released her own single Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes, on Sweat It Out July 21st the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's references. Later in the calendar, her songs circulated all over Dreamville. On December 28, 2008 it was announced that Rihanna had contracted with Dreamville Records. The record Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the song Backseat along with Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016, the artist released her debut album titled Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change and performed as an opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, she appeared on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang in the video for Nothing but the Best. Also, she appeared on Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video for it was also released on September 5th. On November 9 she released two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Two additional singles were also released by her on November 13 Pedigree and No One. She then appeared on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track entitled Shea Butter Baby on November 16 and released as a single on the 26th of February, 2019, for her debut album of the same title. A music video debuted 20 February 2019 in order in conjunction with the song. Within the first period of a week, the video had more than 3 million views. In December of 2018, she was part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
